How to Download Icons

PC (Windows) Users:

  1. Right-click on the icon above and choose "Save Picture As..." and save the icon on your hard drive.
  2. In the top menu on your AIM Buddy List window select: MyAIM -> Edit Options -> Edit Preferences to open your AOL Instant Messenger Preferences window.
  3. Click Buddy Icons in the left vertical menu.
  4. Click Browse PC to find and select the icon you saved in Step 1.
  5. Click OK.

Mac OS X Users:

  1. Control click the icon of your choice (click and hold while pressing the control key) and select from the pop-up menu "Save Image" or "Download Image to Disk" and save the icon to your desktop.
  2. In the AIM application menu, choose "My Account Settings."
  3. Click the "Buddy Icons" tab, and click the "Open Icons Folder" button.
  4. Drag your icon from the desktop into the "AIM Buddy Icons" folder.
  5. Select your icon from the AIM Acount Settings "Buddy Icon" pull down menu and click "OK."
